So it was my birthday on Monday, and to mark the occasion Dean suggested I do 43 tricks for each year of my life. This is following Tony Hawk’s video where he did 50 tricks at aged 50 . I agreed and Dean kindly offered to document them for me and you can find them below or on my Instagram feed .
I did them on the mini-ramp, as the coping is where I’m most comfortable. It was quite challenging, completing these tricks in just over an hour. I wanted to find a balance where I could include some of my more advanced tricks, but that I could do without burning myself before making the full quota. I think a found a fairly good balance but I have been hobbling for a few days.
One quite poignant comment from Tony in his video was that some of those tricks he may be doing for the last time. I hope this isn’t the case for myself, and I hope to come back next year with a more impressive collection for you.
I hope to eventually want document a lot of these tricks in the skateboarding skills section of the website, along with a trick guide. Watch this space.
