We’re at the Design Museum Skateboard Exhibition

Setting up the ramp at the design museum

We’re excited to announce that we have been brought in by the Design Museum to help run sessions on their new miniramp, which has been installed as part of the Skateboard Exhibition.

We’re helping them with practical elements like taking bookings, and training the staff up to manage the open sessions, and making an induction video for riders.

We’ve had really short timelines to get the space up and running, and so currently the offering is quite limited; riders must be 16 years old or over, and you must be able to drop in confidently. Once everything is running smoothly we are going to discuss the possibilities of allowing a wider audience to skate the ramp in the new year.

The ramp has been built by Betong Park, and the design is inspired by such miniramp video classics as Almost’s Cheese and Crackers, and Lovenskate’s Tea & Biscuits.

There are 2 hour open sessions at 11am and 2pm every day, with an extra 6pm session on Saturday. In between sessions they will be showing a short video of skating on the ramp featuring the Converse Team, including Diggs English and Gavin Botgger.

Find out more about the exhibition or you can book tickets to view the exhibition, or to skate the exhibition.
