We received a request to run a Hen party and we were happy to oblige.

Preparing for the skateboarding Hen Party

We sent out some Pre-Activity Risk Questionnaires to attendees to fill out, and some instructions for preparing for the day, including watching our videos on

• Preparing to skate (safety first), and
• Stances

the latter allowed us to establish whether they were Regular or Goofy and save time on the day.

The day of the Hen Party

We had about 15 girls and one guy join us at Peckham Rye Skatepark fresh from an early morning round of darts. The Hen arrived in L plates, especially apt I think, as she hadn’t been on a skateboard before.

We broke off into two smaller groups with a coach for each, and sense of competitive between the groups quickly developed. Everyone did well, culminating with a good proportion of the group attempting The Roll In on the flat bank at the back of the skatepark. I’d suggest the glass of wine (or two) before with the round of darts probably didn’t hurt everyone warm up.
